friday favorites
So I'm thinking that every Friday I'll try and post my favorite wedding of the week and when I spotted this playful Florida wedding on the Southern Weddings Blog, I just knew I had to post it. I've worked a wedding with these big white balloons and every time I see an event with these, they end up being my favorite detail! And the striped bridesmaids' dresses? LOVE. If you want to see more, hop on over to the Southern Weddings Blog, but for now here's a little eye candy for my friday favorites.

flower child
It's no secret that I adore kids. I got my degree in education and I am currently a nanny for two of the coolest (and cutest) kids in DC, so every time I'm scrolling through the blogs and see some awesome ring bearer or flower girl get-up, I melt. Seersucker, Toms, and tutus? Seriously can I be a flower girl because sometimes they're better dressed than the bride

old florida
I grew up in Florida, so naturally I wanted to make an inspiration board based on the Sunshine State and I recently stumbled across one of the most amazing venue spaces I've seen yet, the Ringling Mansion in Sarasota, FL. This ornate building has the classic Mediterranean feel of Floridian architecture, yet is reminiscent of old Hollywood, making it the perfect event space for an outdoor formal affair mixed with some casual touches! I'm thinking exposed king's tables, stacked bangles, lots of mercury glass, and candles galore.
SMP's board builder is still down and I may have lost all my work. I apologize for not crediting the photos and when/if they fix the site, proper photo credits will be added.

happy friday!
Happy Friday my lovely readers (anyone??)! My summer has been fun-filled and exciting thus far, and this weekend is no exception. Tonight, my girls and I are headed to a country concert to sing and dance the night away while purchasing $10 beers... always a good time. Then tomorrow, our fabulous roomie will be throwing a grad party (from graphic design school!) complete with Mexican food and a keg. What more could a girl want?! Congrats Darth!

a girl can dream
To me, event design and interior design go hand in hand. My mother dreamed of becoming an interior designer and has impeccable taste, so I'm sure my obsession of all things design came from her. I've put together some inspiration of my dream house and maybe after I've become a hugely successful event planner, I can make this a reality, swing and all. Or not.

office space
I'm currently in the process of applying for a new job and it got me searching for some home office inspiration... not that I'll have my own home office anytime soon. Living with 5 other girls in Georgetown means small rooms, and very little of your own space. But really, that doesn't mean I can't dream about the day I'll have an extra room just for me and my lovely inspiration come to life. I guess that means I've got to land that job, no?!

fiesta time
This 100 degree weather has me longing for a beach vacation right about now and one of my favorite beaches happens to be Cabo San Lucas. Seriously, how dreamy would it be to throw a destination wedding in Mexico (forget the drug war going on...) and have your closest family and friends there to help you celebrate?! I'm pretty sure my mom wouldn't be too keen on the idea, so I'm going to cross my fingers that one of my future brides (ahem FRIENDS I'm talking to you) decides to throw all inhibitions to the wind and let me plan their Mexican nuptials. Fiesta anyone?
Note: SMP is down and contains all my photo credits. Will update when fixed.
