It's been a crazy week for me so I've been seriously slacking when it comes to blogging. Not only is mother nature getting a little sassy, but I had to cancel my much needed trip to LA to visit college friends AND it was my last week nannying for the 2 most amazing kids in this world. So I'm going to make this a more personal entry and post some adorable pictures of the perfect little faces I got to see almost every day for the past year.

Happy Friday! While browsing the wedding blogosphere this week in search of my favorite soiree, I could not get this adorable engagement session out of my head. A planner's job can go beyond just the wedding, and this couple had their planner design their engagement shoot! I love the tasteful use of streamers and all the colors against their neutral, but totally fabulous outfits. And the confetti?! This is my favorite send-off prop compared to the typical sparklers or god-forbid rice (does anyone even do that anymore??). The colors of confetti make the pictures pop and the couple always looks like they're having a blast!

southern comfort

Perfect weather, charming row houses, and the Carolina beaches make Charleston, SC my favorite American city. I'm obsessed with this plantation house and combine that with baby's breath and a little white dress (ignore the "senor/senora" signage.. so not southern :) with killer shoes and there you have it -- perfection. Maybe one day I can relocate to this amazing city, but for now I'm just as happy to stay in DC.

friday favorites

I know it's only Wednesday, but I have a busy busy day on Friday and probably won't get around to posting, so I figured I'd share my favorite wedding of the week a little early. This stunner stopped me in my tracks as soon as I saw the gown (one of my favorite Amsale dresses). Have I mentioned I like Amsale yet? ;) Anyways the tent in this wedding seriously has me swooning. I love a tented wedding but sometimes the typical plastic tent can be a bit drab but definitely not this one, that's for sure. And how adorable is this couple? Couldn't be more perfect.

Lacey

Lace. I love it and don't wear enough of it. I especially love when it's used in event design. Need a table runner... Why not lace?. Lining your invitations with this dainty fabric... heck yes. While I usually go for the more simple and modern gowns (a la Amsale), a truly fabulous lace dress makes me questions my thinking. And while completely impractical, how adorable are these lace umbrellas?! I'm not sure what anyone would use them for but I still kind of want one.

whitewash

I'm a huge fan of color, yet I have to say my favorite color is probably white (if that's even considered a color) and I love the idea of an all white wedding. There's something about this monochromatic scheme that makes me instantly think the bride has major confidence and doesn't need a bunch of funky colors to make her day stand out, especially when she lets her bridesmaids' wear white too. Now if only I could curl up in that bed with a book instead of spending my day off at jury duty...oh well, duty calls right?
