friday favorites

You guys! I'm obsessed with this wedding, and not because it is insanely gorgeous and pretty much perfect, but because of this. Seriously obsessed. So after you click on that link and watch the groomsmen rock out to none other than J-Biebs, come back and check out these stunning images. From the succulents to the bridesmaid dresses, there's not a detail in this event that I don't adore. I promise they won't disappoint.

Va Bene!

Fall of 2008 was easily the most exciting season of my life. I spent 5 months studying abroad in Florence, Italy, while jetting off every weekend to see the rest of Europe. While I loved every city I visited, it always felt so good to come back to Florence on those chilly Sunday nights. There is something so cozy and comforting about that city and it will always hold a special place in my heart. And that is probably why the idea of a Tuscan wedding has me at hello. I love the idea of mixing lace with leather (a nod to the unbelievable San Lorenzo Market), plus a neutral color palette that lets the scenery speak for itself. Oh and gelato pops wouldn't hurt either. Anyone up for a trip to Italy? Yeah, I wish!

friday favorites

Gosh I just love this wedding. It is unbelievably elegant, chic and, well, just about perfect. The mix of mercury glass, crystal, and simple blooms is one of my favorite looks, so combine that with an amazing venue and awesome tables (seriously, I love these tables) and you have me swooning all day. So enjoy, my lovely readers, and have a fabulous weekend, wherever you are.

Start

I'm pretty sure I've come across the most brilliant beyond brilliant of ideas for table assignments today over at 100 Layer Cake . This crafty couple came up with one of those map games I used to play in magazines (but it was more along the lines of "Which Guy from Laguna Beach is Your Perfect Match?") and I cannot get over how fabulously original and fun this is. I love coming across an idea that I've never seen before because, while something like mason jars are amazingly multifuctional and adorable, I think every other bride in 2011 used them some way or another in their wedding.

fall

I can't yet decide how I feel about fall (gasp! I know). I grew up in Florida and went to college in California, so I'm pretty new to the season. Last year my fall was full of cool sunny days, trips to the botanical gardens and the arboretum, and sipping cider in Eastern Market with the kiddos. This year it has rained almost every day and I've been stuck in the office. But, I will admit fall has this festive spirit to it... the excitement of change and the anticipation of the holidays are undeniable, making it a bit easier for me to say goodbye to my beloved summer. Just don't get me started on winter.

My decision to become a wedding planner was a very ah-ha moment: a moment that changed my life entirely. I was attending the University of San Diego, studying to become a teacher. But while on a car ride with my sister, she asked me if I could be anything in the world, what would it be? I instantly said wedding planner and decided then and there to go after my dreams. My next step was to get an internship and figure out if this was really what I wanted to do with my life. I had a few interviews lined up and ultimately went with the fabulous Eve Harrison of Ooh La La Weddings (love!). One of my interviews that I never went on was for Amorology, a wedding planning company in San Diego that specializes in themed weddings (something they are UH-MAZING at but I'm not sure I have the knack for, nor would always want to do). I've always admired their work and today's friday favorite features an Indian wedding by this fabulous company. How amazing is the chalkboard backdrop?! This is my favorite trend of the moment and they did it so right.

post

Stationary. It pretty much sets the stage for any wedding. Whether it's the save the date or the actual invite, this is the first piece that guests will see. It's one of my favortie details because it can never be too over the top, totally crazy, what were they thinking. And while I think classic caligraphy is always beautiful, I'd encourage couples to express their personalities on the paper, like the one couple did with mini cariactures of themselves on their invites... how adorable!
